Raising Money for Renewable World

Earth Wind & Tyre is not just about testing your cycling ability, it’s also about transforming lives and tackling climate change through clean energy.

Renewable World works with climate-vulnerable communities to improve access to life’s essentials – water, health, education and livelihoods – using clean energy. We help unlock demand for energy and support communities to install technologies like solar microgrids, water pumps, biodigesters and early warning systems. We then support communities to use these technologies to achieve long-term transformation in food security, health and education, and sustainable livelihoods.

By taking part in Earth Wind & Tyre and raising £100 (or more!), you’ll be helping us increase access to clean, affordable and sustainable energy, so both people and planet can thrive.

View the Event Fundraising Page

Your online fundraising page will be created automatically as part of the registration process. As well as providing an easy way to raise sponsorship, you can also set it up to track your rides and the miles you cycle in June. So by personalising and updating this page, it will be easy for friends, family and colleagues to see what you’re doing, follow your challenge, and donate.

Your fundraising page will be linked to our main event fundraising page, from where you can see who’s taking part, who’s topping the fundraising leader board, and how many miles participants have cycled (mileage will only start to be logged from 1 June).

    1. Add a story to your page. Let people know why you’re taking part and what Renewable World means to you.

    2. Add a profile pic and background photo. This will bring your fundraiser to life for your donors.

    3. Share your page across your social media networks, on WhatsApp and email. Don’t be afraid to share your page multiple times, it’s a great way to keep everyone updated and remind them to support your challenge.

    4. Self donate. People who make a donation to their own page to get them started often raise more.

    5. Say thanks! Many people will still donate after your challenge has ended, so make sure you follow up to thank your supporters.

    6. Share some of the examples below (the impact of donations and fundraising) with your donors and on your fundraising page to encourage more donations.

    7. Download our Fundraising Pack for even more tips.

The Impact your Donations and Fundraising will have

Your fundraising will empower more people like Nanda

Nanda was not always able to grow such lush tomatoes. Without water in her village, it was a struggle to collect enough water for drinking, cooking and cleaning, let alone the extra water needed to grow vegetables.

All this changed when a solar water pumping system was installed in Nanda's village in 2020. Nanda can now access water from a tap stand located right outside her house. With easy access to water and the agricultural training that was provided through our project, she has recently been able to grow crops worth over £200.
